ThayerMahan is looking for a highly motivated HRIS Specialist/HR Generalist to join the team.  Ideal candidates should be people-oriented, possess an interest in all-things-HR and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The Human Resources Information Systems Specialist/HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in managing, maintaining, and optimizing our HR systems and reporting processes. This individual will also assist in various HR Generalist functions to support our employees and overall HR operations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, data-driven professional, passion for innovation, enjoys problem solving with a strong understanding of HR processes and technology.

The team supports the organization’s growth by assisting in recruiting events, interviewing candidates, and providing a robust onboarding & orientation program to ensure every new employee is supported from offer acceptance and beyond.

Core Responsibilities:

HR Information Systems Management

Oversee the implementation, maintenance, streamline and optimization of HRIS software and databases, including employee files, ThayerMahan HR documents and forms.

Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security within HR systems, which includes working with internal and external partners (PEO, Payroll, Benefits, IT, etc.)

Collaborate with IT and external vendors to resolve technical issues and implement system upgrades.

Work with our internal and external partners on the ThayerMahan website for job postings as well as giving guidance on the ThayerMahan website

Create and maintain a ThayerMahan Employee Human Resources website (internal)

HR Reporting and Analytics

  • Develop and generate regular HR reports, metrics, and dashboards for management and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze HR data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in preparing reports for insurance, payroll, state, government compliance, audits, and surveys.
  • Data Management and Auditing
  • Assist PEO in any reporting or gathering of information needed as requested
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within HRIS.

HR Generalist Support

  • Assist with recruitment processes, including job posting, applicant tracking, and initial candidate screening.
  • Participate in onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth experience for new and departing employees as well ensure the communication with the internal teams (Payroll, Legal, IT) of an employees on/offboarding
  • Provide support in employee relations, performance management, and HR policy enforcement.
  • Assist in HR communications to the organization (Poster updates, notifications, overall communications)

Compliance and Policy

  • Stay informed about HR laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Assist HR Director in updating, developing and maintenance of HR policies and procedures based upon company, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Employee Support

  • Respond to HR-related inquiries from employees and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Be SME for all systems that employees will use through their life cycle at ThayerMahan.
  • Provide backup for HR Director

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-4 years in HRIS administration, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, policies, and legal regulations.
  • Proficiency in HR software, including HRIS, ATS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
