Location: In Person – Groton, CT with occasional travel to subsidiary and satellite offices in Massachusetts and Virginia (less than 2%)

Position Type: Full Time – Hourly $20-$23 per hour based on experience; Full-Time Benefit Package

Position Summary:

Join the dynamic team at ThayerMahan as a Facilities Technician! We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to maintain and enhance our 31,000 square feet of office and warehouse space at our Groton, CT headquarters.

This role involves regular preventive maintenance and light repair tasks, ensuring our facilities operate smoothly. Occasional travel to our satellite offices in Virginia and Massachusetts will also be required.  At ThayerMahan we pride ourselves on fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous growth.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Facility Maintenance: Inspect and upkeep company facilities, equipment, and grounds.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine checks and maintenance to prevent issues before they arise.
• Light Repairs: Perform minor repairs such as replacing ceiling tiles, painting, furniture building, equipment assembly, and plumbing.
• Landscaping: Assist with the upkeep of outdoor areas.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure company vehicles are in good working condition.
• Organization: Maintain and organize tools and supplies.
• Documentation: Keep accurate maintenance logs and other required documentation.
• Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and practices.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

• United States Citizenship: Required.
• Background Investigation: Must successfully complete.
• OSHA 10 Training: Must be completed within two months of hire.
• Education: High School Diploma required.
• Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office.

Required Skills:

• Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrated ability in small repairs and maintenance projects.
• Documentation: Basic computer skills to document preventive maintenance schedules.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience: Prior experience in commercial or industrial facilities maintenance.
• Safety/Environmental Training: Any related experience or training is a plus.
• Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
• Physical Activity: Must be able to perform tasks involving standing, climbing ladders, carrying packages, and using hand trucks or pallet jacks.
• Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Travel Requirements:

• Location: Based in Groton, CT.
• Travel: Occasional travel to assist with projects at satellite offices (less than 2%).

Note:  Due to our contracts with the US Government, US citizenship is a must.
